Alex Iranzo

Alex Iranzo, MD, PhD, graduated in medicine (1991) and defended his PhD thesis (2002) at the Universidad de Barcelona, Spain. Presently, he is a neurologist consultant at the Neurology Service and at the Multidisciplinary Sleep Unit of the Hospital Clinic of Barcelona, Barcelona, Spain. He is an associate professor of the Universidad de Barcelona, Spain and an investigator at the Institute D' Investigacions Biomèdiques August Pi i Sunyer (IDIBAPS) and Centro Investigación Biomédica en Red Enfermedades Neurodegenerativas (CIBERNED). Dr Iranzo is a member of several national and international societies, including the American Academy of Neurology, the Movement Disorder Society, the American Academy of Sleep, the World Association of Sleep Medicine, the European Sleep Society, the International REM Sleep Behavior Disorder Group, the European Restless Legs Syndrome Society, the European Narcolepsy Network, and the Spanish Society of Neurology and Spanish Sleep Society. He is also currently on the editorial board of the journal Sleep Medicine and is treasurer of the Spanish Sleep Society.
